I guess it is used to start a new thread with the topic in question. it can be helpful when someone (such as yourself) goes incredibly off topic Wink
next time, ask the questions regarding forum software usage in the appropriate categories.

I've been wondering WHO THE HELL ENTERED IN MY ACCOUNT AND STARTED A NEW TOPIC for  a sec but then when I saw the question I remembered asking that and I remember typing that question so i concluded that i mistakenly pressed the "new topic" button instead of the "reply" button (although they're not even near each other) but after I read the reply from sig I figured out two things:
1st : I finally knew whats the meaning of split topic
2nd: that sig pressed the "split topic" button to my reply so it started a new topic based on that comment
so today was: fine, good not great could've been better
